Day 5

Finish:- Woodside
Comment:- Departed caravan park about 8.15am and headed down the South Gippsland Highway. Nice flat road, slight head wind cool and very comfortable.

Stopped for a snack break about 20 km out, then proceeded onto Yarram. Been having trouble with my cluster gearing so decided to find a bike shop. Neil from Yarram Sports Store kindly had a look, made a few adjustments and improved their operation. Still needs more attention. Thanks Neil, your efforts were much appreciated.

Had lunch (ham sandwich and mug of tea) in Yarram. Stopped at the Tourist Information Office in Yarram inquiring about caravan parks between Yarram and Sale. Last caravan park was Woodside, nothing in between. So Woodside was my destination.

Usual routine book in tent up, head for shower then wonder down town. One service station and one Pub, so couldn’t get into too much trouble. Had a couple of lemon squashes at the pub, back to the tent to report in, then cook tea and off to bed.

Will probably head for Sale tomorrow

    Hi Geoff, Sale has a very good Visitor Information Centre. The manager is a guy I know called Mark and they will be very helpful. To get there you turn right at the Princes Hwy roundabout & head back towards Melbourne for about 1 km.

    Hope you're using the Visit Victorioa web site. It will provide lots of help, eg where all the Visitor Information Centres are located.

    Hi Geoff, just spoke to Lyle & recounted your adventures thus far. She is having trouble coming to grips with the concept of a blog, let alone how to access it. We will try to remedy this over Easter as I'm sure she will get great pleasure out of following your trip.

    hi geoff - tried sending a comment via your blog but had to put a friend's email address in as I told you before you left. Anyway i did send it.
    But then rang Evon & she told me to do it this way. So you may get 1 or 2 messages from me!!???
    Good to see you are going well. Have been thinking of you. had my 1st drive of my car after op - 6 weeks!!!!
