Comment:- After I did my diary yesterday, I gathered all my dry washing and packed it away then over to the café for tea. After tea I went to ring Evon but someone was using the phone and did so for about 30 minutes.

In to bed about 8pm and listened to the radio for a while before going to sleep. Had a good nights sleep waking about 5.30am and getting up at 6am. Had another hot shower, packed everything up and went across to the café for breakfast.

I was on the road by 7.45am. Cloudless sky and a light south easterly breeze which freshened latter on.

Ever since the second turn off to Exmouth and Coral Bay yesterday I have had a one metre wide breakdown lane to ride in although sometimes a bit rough.

I took a quick break about 30km out at 10am then proceeded to Yalabia Rest Area arriving there about 11.30am. I made the decision to stay here because Carnarvon is still another 90km away and at my current speed would be another 6 hours of riding.

Set up my tent and heated some water for a cuppa when I was over run by flies. Flies everywhere. I have never seen so many flies. Out with the Aerogard and flynet and that seemed to contol them. A couple of cars pulled up, people got out, and it wasn’t long before they were swatting flies, then back in the cars and off.

Tomorrow we will make Carnarvon. Hopefully the wind will be in the right quarter.
