Comment:- Last night after I finished my diary and bought my Blog up to date, I had tea. I cooked rissoles, potatoes and tomatoes on the barbeque. Went down well followed by a piece of fruit (an apple) and a cup of tea. Received a welcome phone call from Ian. Sat around reading a couple of magazines before retiring to bed about 8.30 pm.
Laid down in bed and that’s when it started. I had another tummy ache like I had the and I know it wasn’t from eating too much. I think there was something in the rissoles that didn’t agree with me or the rissoles were off. The long and short of it all I made a hurried retreat to the toilet and me and the food parted company. I was right after that.
I was up and out of bed by 6.30 am, had breakfast in the camp kitchen, packed up and on the road by 7.45 am It took about 10 km to clear the town boundary. I am now on the Brand Highway heading to Perth.
Cool morning with some cloud cover and a light south easterly wind. The road seems to be following the coast line. Sand dunes to my right, separated by an area of grazing land, then the road. The road is fairly flat but quite a lot of traffic including road trains.
Stopped at Greenough Historical Village and had tea and scones, then continued on to Dongara, arriving there about 2.30 pm. Found one caravan park near town but didn’t have anything suitable for me. They directed me to the Dongara Tourist Park. Back on the bike and another 6 km found the park booked in, etc. Nice park with a good camp kitchen. Settled in and had a shower now the diary.
Tomorrow I aim to get to Leeman.
I would also like to take this opportunity to wish our very good friends, Jill and Stuart, a happy anniversary. Sorry we are not there to share this special occasion with you. It was wonderful hearing from you on Saturday night.
