Day 111

Date:- 3 July 2010
Distance:- 70.47 Km
Distance to Date:- 5573.9 Km
Start:- 41 Mile Bore Rest Area
Finish:- Three Ways Roadhouse Caravan Park
Comment:- Cooked and ate tea about 6pm, washed up and into bed about 7pm. Read for a while then did a Sudoku puzzle then off to sleep. Very windy night and cold. Got up at one stage to check the tent pegs and found them OK.

It was hard to get up this morning, still cold and very windy. Had breakfast and packed up with the hindrance of the wind. I was on the road by 8am.

I have a sore left knee. I don’t know whether it was because I pushed a bit hard yesterday or what. Just below the knee cap on the inside. No pain at the moment but once I start peddling it hurts a bit so will try to take it a bit easier today.

Its overcast, like yesterday, but a stronger SE wind, about 15 - 20 knots and gusting to 25 knots. As I am heading roughly WSW, then SW, I should get some assistance through the day. Sun is trying to shine from time to time.

They have plenty of long straight roads up here and you can see ahead for miles. About 30km out from the rest area the road swung SW hence I now have a side wind to contend with. Stopped for my break about 10.30am about 35km out.

About 45km out the road swung west again and I had a tail wind to take me into Three Ways Roadhouse.

Booked into the Caravan Park and you know the rest. Tent, shave and shower. Spoke to a number of people in the park before settling down to do my diary.

Tomorrow I will head for Banka Banka Station which is 74 km north of Three Ways along the Stuart Highway.
