Day 124

Date:- 16 July 2010
Distance:- 111.07 Km
Distance to Date:- 6727.90 Km
Start:- Saddle Creek Rest Area
Finish:- Kimberleyland Holiday Park - Kununarra
Comment:- Last night I had tea about 6pm then was invited to join three other couples who were travelling together. About 8.30pm I excused myself and went to bed.

Up at 6am and on the road by 7am. Beautiful cool morning, good road with little to no traffic. There are a few cattle wandering on the road early in the day.

A number of caravans are travelling through early. I have heard that the caravan parks up ahead are all full and vans are lining up from 7am in the hope of getting a powered site.

A southerly breeze of 5 - 10 knot has set in about mid morning and swung to the south east latter in the morning. Stopped for a break about 50km out about 10.30pm

Stopped at the monument for the Beef Road, but as per a lot of things around here vandalism has taken its toll. Someone has removed the plaque so I wont know what it represents.

Crossed into Western Australia about 11.30am Northern Territory time. Passed through the Quarantine Station with questions only . No worries. On the way to Kununarra.

A few hills to contend with on the way and then a nice downhill run into town. Very nice. Found a caravan park, booked in and did the usuals then into town and a Coles Supermarket and bought my meals for the next couple of days and a few things for when I am back on the road.

Tomorrow is a Rest Day.
