Distance:- 0 Km
Distance to Date:- 5387.8 Km
Start:- Barkly Homestead
Finish:- Barkly Homestead
Comment:- Last night I had a nice counter meal, made a couple of phone calls and then watched some TV before retiring to bed about 9.30pm.
Had a good nights sleep and slept in till 7.45am. Got up to a very overcast and windy day. Put my tracky dacks and jumper on for the first time in quite some time.
Had breakfast then wandered around the park watching various vans pack up and leave. By 10.30am there was only two vans plus me left in the park. About 11.45am the first van pulled in then there was a continuous parade coming in.
I then started to work on the bike and trailer cleaning and oiling etc. Removed the rear wheel in a hope I could repair the broken spoke. With a bit of ingenuity I was able to extract the remains of the broken spoke and presto the new spoke was fixed.
I finished playing with the bike, cleaned up and then answered a few Emails and checked my route for the next few days. It seems I will be out of phone range again till I reach Three Ways on the Stuart Highway.
Through the afternoon I wandered here and there, read a couple of 4 X 4 magazines someone had offered me and did a Sudoku puzzle.
Will go and enjoy another counter meal, ring home and maybe watch a bit of Telly before retiring.
Hope to go to the Frewena Rest Area but if it is wet in the morning I will prop here till it clears. There is no shelter at the next two rest areas.

Nice to see that telstra works sometimes. Watch out for the camels, roos and crocs. Have you seen any golden arches recently - or is it just pubs and driver/revivers from here on.
ReplyDeleteMassively impressed. Keep going.
We have Min over for a few days from Hong Kong. So Kim will be doing a bit of tourist trips.
