Comment:- Today we arose about 7.30am and had breakfast then headed off into Canberra. We stopped at a shopping centre in Dickson so I could pick up a medical prescription.
We then drove to Black Mountain and ascended the Telstra Tower. It was a clear day and we had 360 degree views over Canberra and its surrounds. After a quick bite to eat at the tower we then decided to to visit the The Royal Australian Mint
The Mint was quite a interesting place covering the history of currency in Australia. Quite a few static displays as well as observing the employees operating the various machines was quite interesting. We also watched a 15 minute film on the mint. No free samples were offered unfortunately.
The next activity of the day was a cruise on Lake Burley Griffin, which was very relaxing and enjoyable. The cruise lasted about 1 hour and covered the history of Canberra as well as important land marks around the lake.
On the way back to camp we stopped at a shopping centre to purchase small ingredients for tea. While the girls visited the Super market we found a bike shop were I bought a new bike pump so hopefully I will be able to handle a flat tyre with ease.
Back at camp we indulged in our usual drinks and nibbles then a very nourishing tea, before having a cuppa and off to bed. Another exciting day is assured for tomorrow. Possibly a visit to Questicon, a science exhibition wis visitor participation.
