Comment:- I am not going to tell Bert where I had tea last night, he will think I have shares in the place. Quite a bit of rain last night, but has cleared away this morning.
Rang “Macca” this morning and was told he would return my call about 6.30am to 6.45am. No return call - No worries
I was on the road by 8.45am this morning and was able to do a mileage check on my bike computer. Over the measured 5 km my bike computer was .01km out - Not bad.
Strong SW wind today, ok as a tail wind, but when the road turned and it was on the side I was being pushed into the traffic - not a good feeling. The road was as good as yesterdays road with some long gentle climbs and some good down hills.
Had my usual snack break at a rest area and while I was there a man from a mobile home came over and offered me tea, coffee or milk. I said no to those but asked if he could give me some water. I filled a couple of water bottles and was on my way.
Hey Bert, I had lunch at Hungry Jacks today. Wasn’t bad either. That was at Marulan
There have been a number of turtles which have unsuccessfully crossed the road (squashed). Then I came across one which was about to take his life in his hands. I stopped pick him up and took him across the four lanes of traffic and let him go. I hope he was grateful.
A sign on top of one of the hills today informs I am in the Southern
Highlands, then shortly after I was entering the Penrose State Forest.
It was about 3.30pm when I saw the turn off for Moss Vale, my destination for the day. Since I was travelling nicely I decided to head for Mittagong.
Arrived at the Mittagong turn off and onto the old Hume highway. The Caravan Park was about 4km down the road through Mittagong. Checked in, tent up, had a nice hot shower, down to the camp kitchen to cook tea and do my nightly report.
I am not sure what my destination will be tomorrow at this stage.
