Day 40
Date:- 23 April 2010
Distance:- 67.76 Km
Distance to Date:- 1948.80 Km
Start:- Coffs Harbour
Finish:- Grafton (Brinos Rest Area)
Comment:- Up at 6.45am, after a reasonable nights sleep. Need to buy some ear plugs to dampen the noise of the passing traffic.
Had to dry the fly of the tent again - wet inside and out. Got everything packed up and went for breakfast at the park café which opened at 8am.
On the road by 8.45am and heading for Grafton. Nice hill just out of Coffs Harbour as per normal - something to warm up on. I am disappointed I didn’t see the big Banana. Head down, tail up I suppose. Next time then.
There was a good road all day today, a couple of hills needed special treatment though. The sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky, and a slight tail wind. A few clouds appeared in the afternoon and a breeze from the north or a slight head wind.
Stopped at Woolgoolga for my snack break at a “Driver Reviver” stop. Had a couple of cups of tea and a few biscuits and a chat to different people.
Had a phone call from Bill today, enquiring about my welfare and offering some advice when I get further North. I will take the advice on board, thanks Bill. You will send me those bright coloured Tee shirts. Had a quick chat with Ingrid (Bills offsider). She has been following my blog with great interest
Hoping to get to Maclean or further tomorrow and Ballina the next day.

Geoff is the long list of items your carrying to encourage others to join you along the way??
ReplyDeleteGood to hear all is going well and that the mishaps have been very minor, may it stay that way. Being ahead of schedule must be a bit like building up brownie points ha ha, to remind Evon you maybe home sooner than first planned.
regards Stuart and Jill
