Comment:- A goods nights rest was had. Up at 6.30am to find the tent was wet inside and out - condensate on the inside and a heavy dew on the outside, so I removed the Fly and spread it out to dry.
Sun is shining, little or no breeze, so hopefully another nice day to enjoy. The caravan park where I stayed last night was older but basically quite comfortable.
I was on the road about 9.15am today after trying to dry out the tent. Passed through the town of Heatherbrae fairly early. Nice looking Caravan Park, a Subway Outlet, a 711 and the Golden Arches. As it was fairly early in the day I just rode past them.
Stopped at 12 Mile Creek Rest Area for my snack break about 10.20am. A few threatening clouds around now hopefully it doesn’t rain. Crossed over the Karuah River - nice new wide bridge.
Stopped at the Wallaroo Rest Area for another snack attack and was joined by a couple driving north as well. They offered me a nice cup of tea and some fruit cake. It wasn’t bad either, but don’t tell Evon. They gave me some to take with me as well.
The rest of the afternoon was a little boring with a few hills to negotiate, a couple of downhills. I decided I would make Bulahdelah Caravan Park my destination even though there was a Rest Area a further couple of km down the road.
When the day started the first 30 to 40 Km was good going and I thought I would be able to get quite a bit further. The couple of hills and a gentle northly breeze put pay to that idea.
Tomorrow I hope to make Taree
