Day 58

Date:- 11 May 2010
Distance:- 66.03 Km
Distance to Date:- 3079.1 Km
Start:- Marlborough Caravan Park
Finish:- Waverley Creek Rest Area
Comment:- Last night I had tea in the café across the road from the caravan park. Rissoles, chips and salad and a bottomless cup of tea or coffee for $12.50

Up at 6am in the morning after a very good nights sleep, packed up and over to the same café for Bacon and eggs for breakfast and again a bottomless cup of tea or coffee. Almost too much to eat. Very good.

On the road by 8.15am and heading for Waverley Creek Rest Area. Not too bad a road specially when the traffic is light. It was an overcast sought of day, when the sun breaks through its quite warm

Stopped on the side of the road for my half way snack break about 10.30am. Road has been generally flat so I have been able to cover a bit of ground.

About 7 km from my destination a car pulled up in front of me and a man jumped out and hailed me to stop. We chatted on the side of the road. He had just bought a trailer and was wondering what my thoughts were on trailers. He is hoping to embark on some long distance touring as well.

Shortly after we parted company it started RAINING. Nothing real serious. I put the cover on my handlebar bag and just kept going. Arrived at the rest area about 1.15pm, the rain had stopped. Selected a spot to pitch my tent and everything organised and down the rain came again. I have a table and chair under cover so I am quite comfortable. The smell of the rain is so sweet and refreshing.

I think tomorrow I will head for Camilla
