Day 69

Date:- 22 May 10
Distance:- 85.28 Km
Distance to Date:- 3795.3 Km
Start:- Blue Water Rest Area
Finish:- Palm Tree Caravan Park - Ingham
Comment:- Last night at the rest area the local community opened the recreation hall and served hot food and cold drinks. Apparently they do this every Friday night. I wandered over top have a sticky beak and bought a drink.

I was actually up at 6am this morning after a goods nights sleep. Had breakfast, packed and on the road by 7.45 am.

Rode through to Rollingstone about 22 km, road very good and weather couldn’t be better. Stopped at the Frosty Mango and had raison toast and tea with mango jam.

Travelled through the Crystal Book National Park and onto Ingham. Cane fields, Mango groves various other crops, also paddocks prepared for sowing new crops.

A few more dead snakes on the road today. A couple of really big ones. A bit scary. “Beware of Crocodiles” signs are appearing as well

Met another cyclist heading south. Mark started in Cairns and is heading for Brisbane. That should be a good ride for him. We traded notes on the roads ahead and went our ways.

Stopped to check out the Francis Creek Rest Area about 5 km south of Ingham. Toilets, water, close to the road and is a Driver/Reviver stop when required.

Arrived at the Palm Tree Caravan Park, booked in, set up and put a load of washing in. Into town to organise my next few meals. Back to camp and have a shave and shower before doing my diary.
Tomorrow is a Rest Day. Check the bike and trailer over and recharge my batteries.
