Distance to Date:- 4033.5 Km

Comment:- Change of plans this morning, we decided to postpone Green Island and set off to Cape Tribulation.
Left home about 10am and headed north on the Cook Highway. At Rex Lookout we watched a hang glider take his first solo flight successfully. We continued on past Mossman and stopped at Silky Lodge for a coffee break. Continuing on we crossed the Daintree River on the ferry, stopped at Alexandra Lookout with views over the mouth of the Daintree River then drove on until we stopped at Thornton Beach for a picnic lunch. Evon thinks it was a beautiful beach.
After lunch we continued north to the Marrdja Botanic Walk which took us through the Mangroves to Coopers Creek. We then continued on to Cape Tribulation where the rainforest meets the reef.
On our return journey we stopped for tropical fruit ice-cream before travelling back across the Daintree River on the ferry. We then visited Daintree township before returning to Cairns.
