Comment:- Slept in this morning till 6.30am, but still organised and on the road by 8am.

Took the Courtesy bus to the local RSL club last night and had tea there and a couple of lemon squashes. Met up with two couples from South Australia who were travelling around. I would like to thank them for their hospitality and generosity and wish them well in their travels.

The road was undulating as I departed Charters Towers and for the next 10 km, then flattened out and a few gentle hills. Ran into a few reverse hills where the road ran down to a low flood area and then you had to climb back out.

Stopped at Baifes Creek Pub and General Store for an early lunch about 11.30am. Found it hard to get mobile again but persevered and soon settled down. My next stop was the general store at Homestead where I bought some refreshments, then continued on to the Campaspe River Rest Area where I will spend the night.

Not quite sure about the destination tomorrow as there are a few HILLS in the way so I am told.
