Comment:- Had tea about 6pm, washed up and chatted to another couple of travellers. Retired to tent about 7.30pm and listened to the radio. It was too cold and windy to sit outside. There were a few wild pigs wandering around but didn’t bother us.
Slept in this morning. Had to break the ice, it was about 4 degrees. Put my All weather jacket and long pants on. it’s the first time since I have been away that I have worn them. Justifies bringing them away.
Had a quick breakfast, packed and on the road by 8.15am. A good road all the way, a little overcast, with a light SE wind which, like yesterday, increased as the day progressed.
About 10km down the road there were roadworks and I was delayed by about 10 minutes, not too bad really.
About 20 km from Cloncurry I ran into a few hills, apparently a sign of things to come. Not too bad just slowed my progress a little. Arrived in Cloncurry and found a nice little caravan park, booked in and set up, showered and down the street. They had a Woolworths, so I bought some fruit, milk, soft drink and something for tea.
Tomorrow I would like to get to Fountain Springs Rest Area (304) and then to Mount Isa the next day.
