Comment:- In bed by 9.45 pm last night and had a tremendous sleep awaking about 5 am and getting up at 5.30 am. Very mild morning but as the sun rose it got colder.
Had breakfast in the camp kitchen, washed up and packed up and on the road by 6.45 am. Cool overcast day with showers predicted for Esperance this morning, so the further north I can get the safer I should be. A light north westerly wind to start with.
One nice hill to warm you up just out of Esperance, then a gradual climb up to where the Airport is situated about 20 Km out of town. The wind has increased to about 5 - 10 kts so its on my left front face most of the day.
Found a Bike Path on the right hand side of the road which took me through the small town of Gibson. Nice and smooth and no cars to worry about.
Stopped at Scadan Rest Area about 55 km out of town at 11 am. Nice day stop area with new toilets, table and chairs etc and display buildings recognising the pioneers of the area and the various wars. There are numerous murals on the walls of the buildings depicting the history and industries of the area. Lois caught up to me here and we had lunch together.
Back on the road again and enjoying the gentle rolling hills. Soon arrived at the little town of Green Patch where I enjoyed a coffee and a sausage roll.
Salmon Gums was my objective for the day and I arrived there about 3.30 pm and booked into the caravan park. A very basic park but none the less comfortable. Down to the pub for a counter tea tonight. Louis is booked in there and offered to pay for my tea then I will do my diary and Blog before I go to bed.
Tomorrow Norseman is the objective, a distance of 90 km
