Day 182

Date:- 12 September 2010
Distance:- 105.70 Km
Distance to Date:- 11,088 Km
Start:- Railway Motel - Norseman
Finish:- Fraser Range Caravan Park
Comment:- After I finished my diary and Blog it was time to prepare for a BBQ while Lois used my computer to do her Emails.

We had bought steak, sausages, potatoes, onion and a salad. Prepared and cooked everything up and Lois dished it up and we sat in the dinning room and enjoyed our tea.

Washed up and back to our room and had a cuppa and biscuits while we watched TV. Had a very welcome phone call from Jill and Stuart and it was then time for bed.

Up about 6 am this morning after a good sleep. Over to the reception area for a big breakfast of fruit juice, a compote of fruit, cereal, toast and tea which was all included in the room charge.

Back to the room to pack and load the bikes and on the road by 7.45 am. Rode through the caravan park to see if Coral was there. There was no sign of her.

Just a little way out of Norseman was the turnoff to the Eyre Highway and the Great Nullarbor. We encountered a few hills on the way and there was a light north westerly wind to start with and a cloudless sky.

Another milestone reached today. 11,000 km turned over just out of Norseman.

The wind swung to the south west and it clouded over very quickly. Had my break at 40 km at 10.30 am and shortly after I continued it started to lightly drizzle, and that was the order for the rest of the day.

Very good road with a metre wide breakdown lane all the way to Fraser Ranges turnoff

I arrived at the Fraser Range Caravan Park about 3.30 pm, cold and wet. Booked in, put tent up, had a shower ($1 per 5 min for hot water), then dried my clothes in the camp kitchen in front of a pot belly stove.

Lois took off and left me about 10 km out of Norseman. She was hoping to ride through to Balladonia.

Doing my diary in the nice warm camp kitchen. But I have no mobile phone coverage here.

Tomorrow I hope to ride to Balladonia a distance of about 90 Km
